• The new RedSea Max tanks have proven themselves to be winners. With clear low iron glass and excellent build quality, you can really create a stunning image for your dollars. The overall size and presence of this tank dominate, making for a much larger looking tank then the actual size! The 130D(34 gallon) looks more like a 50 gallon, while the 250(65 gallon) looks more like a 90 gallon. RedSea has certainly taken control of the nano(all-in-one-tank) market for now! And they are VERY INEXPENSIVE to run and MAINTAIN!!!! RATING: 5 CLAMS! • The Euroreef nano skimmers are here! WOW!!! AWESOME! These skimmers employ a alloy mesh wheel that just destroy's the competition out there! The alloy mesh wheel pulls in more air then anything out there on the market, and slices and dices the bubbles into small .2-.5 sizes! This creates a skimmer body packed with bubbles, increasing surface area many times over conventional pin wheels! We have been useing one in the office now for about a month in our RedSea max with stunning results! You can now feed without algae problems! You can now have crystal clear water! This skimmer will open up a whole new chapter in YOUR reefkeeping most certainly! RATING: 5 CLAMS! • Apogee Quantum/PAR meter rentals are here. These are the latest in Apogee's line of new Quantum meters. Full data logging within the computer allows you up to 99 samples, plus averaging totals as well. No more guessing about how much bulb is actually needed or if you are over lighting the tank! The possibilities are endless! Map out your entire tank and know exactly where you can place certain corals. A must have tool for the serious reef aquarist or anyone wanting to run their lighting more efficiently! RATING: 5 CLAMS! • We are proud to carry the Vortech line of aquarium pumps. Another innovative product "Made in America"! With about 2 months on our MP20 we are happy to report flawless running with this beauty! The computer softerware that comes with the unit has automatic current maps you can choose from, or make up your own! The unit also features night mode which cuts the current down by 50% automatically each night at the set time. Also included is a feed mode! The units are a snap to install, and best of all no more electric motor in the tank. You get what you pay for! RATING: 5 CLAMS! • TIP: A often overlooked test kit is the Salifert carbon test. This kit will tell you a percentage of how exhausted your carbon is. This is another way to save $$$$$$! We like to get about 95% out of ours before changing. With the Salifert carbon test kit you can do just that! For example. We know now that in our Max tank with the stock skimmer our carbon was 95% done at 3 weeks. And at the 4th week you could start to see a difference! Just so you know, carbon can remove some tanins(algae coloration) that skimming cannot! So, if you want that ultra clear water with no odor, a good skimmer and carbon will get it done.Out! 5/28/09- We are listing the RedSea Max components later today or tomorrow. bulbs, fans and pumps will be the best prices around so have a look. I would recommend that EVERYONE have at least ONE SPARE PUMP and BULB, if not two on hand at all times! We love the Max tank here in the office! Very cool! We are also listing the foods that we know will be the best for your fish and corals. High protein is crucial for fish health. The Sailfert pellets are great. They sink which is a big plus. Pellet size is small, so consider this as a food for smaller fish. I would venture to say no more then 4 inches in size. The Jarred Zooplankton is also excellent and a more natural food. ALL fish love this! It;s very good stuff with a really high protein content as well. Stay Tuned! More to come! 6-01-09- New Max components listed and ar now in stock! The cabinet fan is really nice and well built! We are going to do a install on our office tank!!! This should keep the chiller much cooler! More to come! You can find the Max parts under the Max tanks! |
